Finally, My Kitty Care suggests The Aristocats, released December 24, 1970. The Disney movie has nothing in its story involving Christmas, but it’s included because many, many years ago, on Christmas Eve it was aired. Embedded in that memory is a crackling fire, red stockings hanging from the fireplace mantle, and a 6 foot tree decorated with lights, tinsel and ornaments prized as family heirlooms. When the Aristocats ended, embers in the fireplace glowed orange, and the scent of pine filled the room.

The synopsis:
When a retired opera singer leaves her inheritance to her cat, Duchess (Eva Gabor), and three kittens, the woman’s butler drugs the cats and abandons them in the countryside in order to inherit the fortune himself. Lost in unfamiliar territory, Duchess and the kittens meet Thomas O’Malley (Phil Harris), an alley cat willing to help them return to their home in Paris. They meet several kooky characters along the way, including two English geese and an alley cat jazz band.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all cats

My Kitty Care really likes Thanksgiving: we hope to be with those we love and eat too much dinner. Maybe watch football, take strolls before dinner, and after, if possible. It’s a chance to share time and food. Since our cats are part of our families, we share with them too.

Pumpkin is traditional fare on Thanksgiving. We especially like it as pie (warm with ice cream…yum). Your cat can enjoy pumpkin too, and the best part is that it’s good for cats. Please read how to give your cat pumpkin so everyone is happy.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

National Cat Day 2021

We love our cats everyday, and the creation of National Cat Day in 2005 by Pet and Family Lifestyle Expert & Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige gives recognition to the wonderful addition cats bring to our families and our lives: fun, entertainment, joy and unconditional love.

But the two most important parts of the National Cat Day mission is:

To help galvanize the public to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year

Cats have Thanksgiving dinner

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It’s a lovely holiday when we can be grateful for the good things in our lives, particularly, for those we love. We celebrate Thanksgiving by sharing a feast together. Toby and Marnie celebrate Thanksgiving too, with a Thanksgiving dinner, and pumpkin, too.
